Last August, Thelma was featured on Proyecto Latina’s blog. Proyecto Latina is a platform and space for Latina creatives to run free and showcase themselves to the public. Thelma was interviewed by Ericka Sanchez on the topic of Latina crafters. After going to a few craft fairs and noticing the lack of Latina crafters, Ericka found it necessary to search Chicago and highlight such crafters. The interview covered topics such as the beginning of el stitch y bitch, our infamous piñata and knit graffiti. You can listen for yourself here.

And since we’re on the topic of Proyecto Latina… come check out el stitch y bitch and our knit piñata as we’re featured for their monthly event on November 16 at 7pm. We will be knitting, chismeando and much more at:

Radio Arte
1401 W. 18th Street
#18th St./60 Blue Island Bus Blue Line 18th St. stop

For this event, we’re letting it all hang out, so we’re also asking that guests donate a knitted swatch for some serious graffiti mayhem. Don’t forget your reading material for the open mic too. Hope to see you there!
